Overview
This project involved redesigning the Dubai Police website’s service information page to improve user experience and navigation. The existing design suffered from unclear functionalities, confusing layouts, and lack of efficient information retrieval methods.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was to create a user-friendly and accessible service information page that catered to a diverse audience with varying levels of digital literacy. Users reported difficulty understanding button functions, navigating service details, and finding the information they needed quickly. This frustration led to a negative user experience and hindered public engagement with online police services.
My Role
As the UX designer for this project, I spearheaded the redesign process. My responsibilities included:
- Conducting user research to understand user needs and pain points.
- Developing user personas to represent the target audience.
- Creating wireframes and prototypes to explore design solutions.
- Collaborating with developers and stakeholders to refine the final design.
- Conducting usability testing to ensure the effectiveness of the redesign.
Research
The initial phase involved research to gather valuable insights. This included: Benchmarking, Heuristic Evaluation, and User research.
Benchmarked Websites
We considered other leading websites who had an emphasis on services & are majorly multilingual. This would help understand the emerging best practices as well as directly compare the services as provided by other players in the similar government entities.
